Every WWST tournament guarantees at least 3 games per team. You’ll play 2-3 round-robin games to get warmed up and ranked, then head into the playoffs where it’s win or go home. This format keeps the day exciting, gives every team a fair shot, and ensures plenty of playing time for all!
Team Composition: Each team consists of 6 players, with at least two females on the court at all times. In the event a team only has one female, they may only play with a total of 4 players on the court at a time.
Free Agents: Players without a team may sign up as free agents and be assigned to a team in need or formed into a team if there's enough free agents.
Match Format: Matches are played as a best-of-three sets or a single set to 21 points (must win by 2, with a cap at 25) with a 45-minute running clock. At the end of 45 minutes the team with most points in that set will claim the set point
Warmup: There will be NO Warmup prior to games start times (remember all games are 45 minutes running clock). Once both teams are ready, gameplay must begin.
Rally Scoring: Every serve results in a point, regardless of which team served.
Three Touches: Each team is allowed a maximum of three touches to return the ball over the net. A block does not count as one of the three touches.
Rotation: Players must rotate clockwise every time their team wins the serve back from the opponent.
Serving: The server must stay behind the back boundary line until the ball is contacted. Underhand or overhand serves are permitted.
Substitutions may only occur at the serve position in the rotation
Wins, Losses & Ties Point System: Wins are 3 points, ties are 1 point & Loses are 0 points
Tie Breaker: Will go to head to head
Respect: Players are expected to respect one another and the umpires at all times
Unsportsmanlike Conduct: Any player involved in fighting or aggressive behavior will be immediately ejected from the tournament and count as an automatic out for your team in the batting order for the remainder of the day
Team Support: Teams should encourage and support each other, creating a fun, community-driven environment.
Media: We will have videographers and professional photos being taken at the event for all teams. All content will be shared with team captains following the event and/or posted to the WWST Social Media accounts
Championship: The winning team of each division will receive a trophy or championship rings
Team Photos: All winning teams will receive a special team photo with a championship banner
Net Violations: Players may not touch the net with any part of their body while the ball is in play.
Ball Handling: In play, "clean" contact is encouraged. While professional rules are strict on "doubles" or "lifts," we allow for slightly more relaxed handling, provided the ball is not caught or thrown. We are not professionals, the goal is for all players to have fun!
Boundary Lines: A ball that touches any part of the boundary line is considered "in."
"Loved everything so far"
“Hands down the most fun I’ve had playing softball in years!
The games were competitive but still super chill, and the energy was unmatched. I loved the 5-run limit and flexible batting order — it kept things moving and gave everyone a chance to shine. Can’t wait for the next WWST tournament!”

"My life changed forever"
“WWST wasn’t just a tournament — it brought me back to life.
After stepping away from sports for years, I didn’t realize how much I missed the community, the competition, and just having something to look forward to. Playing in the softball tournament reminded me how powerful sports can be for your mental health. I met new friends, felt connected again, and found a piece of myself I thought I lost. I’m truly grateful.”

"Highly recommend this"
“If you’re looking for a fun, organized, and welcoming sports experience — WWST is it.
The games are well-run, the vibe is positive, and the format makes sure everyone gets to play and compete. Whether you’re super competitive or just want to get active and meet people, I highly recommend giving it a shot. It’s more than a tournament — it’s a community.”
